Peer Review Process
At Educaniora, we are committed to maintaining high standards of quality and integrity in publishing scholarly work. To ensure this, we have established a rigorous and transparent peer review process for all submitted manuscripts. This process is designed to provide constructive feedback to authors and uphold the academic quality of the journal.
1. Submission of Paper:
Authors submit their papers through our online submission system at Educaniora Submissions. The submitted papers should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere at the time of submission. Authors must register or log in to the system, complete the submission checklist, and upload their manuscripts following the provided guidelines. The scope of Educaniora includes topics in education and humanities, specifically focusing on areas such as educational technology, pedagogy, curriculum development, cultural studies, and interdisciplinary studies within the humanities. The full scope can be viewed here.
2. Initial Check:
Upon submission, the editorial office conducts an initial check to ensure that the paper fits the journal's scope and adheres to the submission guidelines. This includes verifying the originality of the content, checking for adherence to formatting requirements, and ensuring that all necessary documentation (such as ethical approval and conflict of interest statements) is provided. If the paper does not meet these criteria, it may be rejected outright or returned to the author for revisions.
3. Assignment to Editor:
If the paper passes the initial check, it is assigned to an editor with expertise in the relevant subject area. The editor conducts a preliminary assessment to determine whether the paper is suitable for peer review. This assessment focuses on the relevance, originality, and quality of the manuscript.
4. Selection of Reviewers:
The editor selects at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area. The review process at Educaniora is double-blind, meaning that both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other to ensure impartiality. Reviewers are chosen based on their knowledge, experience, and ability to provide a fair and constructive critique of the manuscript.
5. Review Process:
The reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on criteria such as the significance of the research, methodology, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field. They provide detailed comments and recommendations for improvement. Reviewers may recommend acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection. The review process typically takes 4-6 weeks.
6. Review Outcome:
Based on the reviewers' feedback, the editor makes a decision on the manuscript. The possible outcomes are:
- Acceptance: The manuscript is accepted with no or minor revisions.
- Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires minor changes before it can be accepted.
- Major Revisions: The manuscript needs significant changes and will undergo another round of review after revisions.
- Rejection: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in the journal.
7. Revision Process:
If revisions are required, the authors are given a specific timeframe to make the necessary changes and resubmit the revised manuscript. The revised manuscript is then reviewed again by the same reviewers (in the case of major revisions) or the editor (in the case of minor revisions) to ensure that all comments have been addressed satisfactorily.
8. Final Decision:
After the revision process, the editor makes the final decision on the manuscript. If the manuscript is accepted, it proceeds to the production stage. If it is rejected, the authors are notified with detailed feedback explaining the reasons for rejection.
9. Production and Publication:
Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes copyediting, proofreading, and formatting for publication. The final version is then published online in the upcoming issue of Educaniora.
By following this thorough and transparent peer review process, Educaniora ensures the publication of high-quality research that contributes significantly to the fields of education and humanities.
